Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., commonly known as 'Bongbong' Marcos, is a Filipino politician who has served as the President of the Philippines since June 30, 2022. He is the son of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., who ruled the country from 1965 until his ousting in 1986. Marcos Jr.'s presidency marks a controversial return of the Marcos family to power, as they have been associated with human rights abuses and corruption during his father's regime.
