David McKiernan
David McKiernan is a retired U.S. Army general who served as the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan from 2008 until his dismissal by President Barack Obama in 2009, making him the first wartime commander to be relieved of duty since General Douglas MacArthur in 1951.
