Warren Jeffs, born in 1955, is the notorious leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), a polygamous sect that broke away from mainstream Mormonism. He rose to power after the death of his father, Rulon Jeffs, and became known for his extreme control over his followers, including arranging marriages for underage girls and preaching that having multiple wives was a path to salvation. He was convicted in 2011 of sexual assault related to child brides and is currently serving a life sentence. Despite his imprisonment, he continues to exert influence over certain members of the FLDS.
