Robert Schomburgk
A German-born explorer and botanist, Robert Schomburgk was commissioned by the Royal Geographical Society in the 19th century to survey British Guiana. His mapping efforts led to the establishment of the Schomburgk Line, which became a focal point in the territorial claims between Venezuela and Britain.
