Nicolae Paulescu
Nicolae Paulescu (1869-1931) was a Romanian physiologist and physician who is best known for his pioneering work in the discovery of insulin, a hormone essential for regulating blood sugar levels. He published his findings on pancreatic extracts in 1921, but his contributions were overshadowed by the later recognition of Canadian researchers who also discovered insulin.
