Vo Huy Thinh

soldier unknown

Vo Huy Thinh, aged 70, is a significant witness to the historical events of the Tet Mau Than 1968 during the Vietnam War. On May 31, 2023, he participated in a survey led by the Ho Chi Minh City Command to identify the site of a suspected mass grave for soldiers at Le Thi Rieng Park. Thinh recalls witnessing the burial of several soldiers in what was then the Do Thanh cemetery when he was just 12 years old. His vivid memories of that tragic day, including the sight of decayed bodies being interred, have driven him to contribute to the ongoing efforts to locate and honor these fallen heroes. After the war, Thinh served in the military and fought in Cambodia, sustaining injuries that eventually brought him back to Ho Chi Minh City, where he continues to advocate for the remembrance of soldiers lost during the conflict.
