Tom McGetchin
Tom McGetchin is a scientist who had a lunar crater named after him following its discovery by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. The crater was formed between April 11 and May 22, 2024, as a result of an impact from a comet or asteroid, and it is noted for being the largest newly formed crater in the solar system, measuring 222 meters wide and 43 meters deep.
