Dr. Thi Quốc Huy, 35, has returned to Vietnam after over a decade of research abroad, with a vision to advance the development of 2D materials, which are fundamental to the next generation of semiconductors. A graduate of the University of Natural Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City and a postdoctoral researcher at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he aims to build a research team at the Advanced Technology Institute (IAT) to train Vietnamese students in advanced material research. Huy's innovative work includes the development of a clean method for fabricating 2D materials, which has garnered international recognition and patents.
