T. N. Pandit
T. N. Pandit was an Indian anthropologist known for his pioneering fieldwork with the Sentinelese tribe on North Sentinel Island. In 1967, he led one of the few successful expeditions to contact this isolated community, which remains largely uncontacted due to their violent resistance to outsiders. His research contributed to the understanding of their customs and way of life, but also highlighted the challenges and dangers of approaching such fiercely protective tribes.
