Sveti Naum
Sveti Naum, also known as Saint Naum of Ohrid, was a 10th-century Byzantine scholar and a monk credited with the establishment of the Ohrid Literary School and the creation of the Cyrillic script alongside his companion, Saint Clement of Ohrid. He is best known for founding the Monastery of Saint Naum, located on the shores of Lake Ohrid in Macedonia, where he dedicated his life to spreading Christianity and education. His teachings and spiritual legacy have played a crucial role in the cultural and religious identity of the Macedonian people. After his death in 910, he was buried at the monastery, which has since become a pilgrimage site, symbolizing the resilience and enduring faith of the Macedonian nation.
