Sun Xin
Sun Xin was a renowned Chinese physicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who made significant contributions to statistical physics and condensed matter theory. Born in July 1938 in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, he graduated from the physics department of Fudan University in 1960 and continued his career there as a professor and doctoral advisor. In 2013, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recognizing his impactful work in the field. Sun Xin received several prestigious awards, including the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the third prize of the National Natural Science Award. He passed away on May 27, 2025, in Shanghai at the age of 87 due to illness.
