Oswald Iten is a Swiss journalist known for his in-depth reporting on indigenous populations and human rights issues. In December 2000, while researching the situation of the indigenous people in West Papua, he was arrested by Indonesian authorities and spent twelve harrowing days in a torture prison, where he witnessed severe abuses.
