Omaru Diko is a former Nigerian transportation minister who gained notoriety in the 1980s after fleeing to London following a military coup in Nigeria. He became a vocal critic of the subsequent regime led by General Muhammadu Buhari, which accused him of corruption and sought to forcibly return him to Nigeria. Diko's abduction attempt in London on July 4, 1984, orchestrated with the help of Israeli operatives, turned into a significant international incident.
