Ludovic-Mohamed Zahed
Ludovic-Mohamed Zahed is an Algerian-born LGBTQ+ activist and imam, known for his courageous exploration of the intersection of faith and sexuality in his memoir, 'The Koran and the Flesh'. Growing up in a working-class family in Algiers, Zahed faced the challenges of being both a devout Muslim and a gay man in a society where homosexuality is criminalized and often leads to violence. After relocating to France, he founded the organization HM2F (Homosexuel(le)s Musulman(e)s de France) to create a supportive community for gay Muslims, advocating for a more inclusive interpretation of Islam that embraces sexual diversity.
