Lin Chia-liang is the operator of a sanctuary for retired buffalo in Yunlin County, Taiwan, which he established in 2022 after converting a former rice field into a home for buffalo that farmers could no longer care for. He returned to his hometown in 2014 and utilizes his family-owned farmland to grow pesticide-free rice and produce soy sauce under the brand Huihsiang Rice. Lin's sanctuary, which currently houses four buffalo, including one named Dolphin, relies on income from his agricultural products and donations from visitors to cover its operating costs.
