Kwong Wan Lo
Kwong Wan Lo, a Chinese immigrant born in Zhuhai in 1942, faced significant hardships in his early life, including the execution of his father by the Communist Party. After moving to Hong Kong at 19 and facing rejection for legal migration to Australia, Lo illegally entered the country in 1981 by hiding on a cargo ship. For nearly 40 years, he lived in Australia without legal status, working diligently and paying taxes while fearing deportation. In 2023, he finally received permanent residency after a long legal battle, allowing him to seek citizenship and reconnect with his distant family.
