Kostiantyn Humenyuk is a distinguished Ukrainian military medical officer, currently serving as the Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He holds the rank of Colonel and is recognized as a respected educator in the medical field, with both a candidate of medical sciences and a doctor of medical sciences degree. Humenyuk is a Honored Doctor of Ukraine and a laureate of the National Prize of Ukraine named after Boris Paton. He has played a significant role in military medical operations, including serving as the chief surgeon during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). Notably, in May 2022, he performed Ukraine's first-ever laparoscopic kidney removal surgery in a military mobile hospital under combat conditions. Recently, he was appointed by President Volodymyr Zelensky as the new commander of the Medical Forces.
