photographer unknown

Julio Troche is a Paraguayan photographer known for capturing the historic assassination of Nicaraguan ex-dictator Anastasio Somoza in 1980. As the first reporter on the scene, Troche documented the brutal attack with a series of color photographs that would later serve as crucial evidence of the vulnerability of regional dictatorships. His work not only highlighted the violence of the era but also led to personal repercussions, including persecution by the Stroessner regime, forcing him to leave Asunción.
