Joshua Idehen is a British-Nigerian artist and poet born in 1980 in Hackney, London. He grew up in Benin City, Nigeria, before returning to London as a young adult. Idehen has been a prominent figure in London's jazz and spoken word scene, collaborating with notable acts like Sons of Kemet. After moving to Stockholm in 2020, he began a new musical journey, focusing on uplifting dance music that intertwines personal themes of resilience and hope. His recent work with Ludvig Parment culminated in the debut album 'I know you’re hurting, everyone is hurting, everyone is trying, you have got to try,' which features politically charged lyrics and a blend of house and spoken word.
