Jassi Maranhao is a Brazilian football defender who plays for Coritiba in the top tier of Brazilian football. He made headlines recently after scoring a goal against Chapecoense, only to injure himself while celebrating by jumping over an advertising board and falling into a tunnel. Although he managed to climb out, he sustained an ankle injury and had to be substituted shortly after. Interestingly, the goal was later disallowed after a VAR review, but Maranhao expressed his joy at scoring, noting that goals are a rare achievement for defenders.
