Ibrahim I

politician unknown

Ibrahim I, known as 'the Mad Sultan,' was the 18th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, reigning from 1640 to 1648. His rule was marked by erratic behavior and extravagance, leading to a period of political instability. The pressures of leadership and his mental health issues caused him to become increasingly disconnected from the affairs of state, ultimately leading to his deposition and execution at the hands of his own mother, Kosem Sultan.
