Hu Chun is the mother of the first locally born giant panda cub in Indonesia, known as 'Rio'. The cub was born on November 27, 2025, at the Indonesia Safari Park in West Java, where Hu Chun has been residing. Along with the father panda, Cai Tao, Hu Chun has been closely monitored by a team of experts from both the park and the China Panda Protection Research Center to ensure the health and development of their offspring. Hu Chun's nurturing role is pivotal in the cub's early life, as she interacts with Rio and facilitates his transition to a diet of bamboo.
