Esmaeil Qaani
Esmaeil Qaani is an Iranian Major General in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and serves as the commander of the Quds Force, an elite unit responsible for extraterritorial operations. He succeeded Qassem Soleimani after his assassination in January 2020. Qaani has been a key figure in Iran's military strategy and regional influence, particularly in relation to Iran's involvement in the Syrian Civil War and support for various militant groups throughout the Middle East. Recently, he was in the news for issuing a message commemorating the sacrifices of the Iranian military on the occasion of National Army Day.
