Dor Gdalia Ben Shimon
Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gdalia Ben Shimon (32) was the commander of the 52nd Armored Battalion in the Israel Defense Forces. He grew up in Kibbutz Beit She'an and had a distinguished military career, serving in various leadership roles within the 401st Armored Brigade. Ben Shimon took command of his battalion just two months before his death during a conflict in southern Lebanon, a role he assumed during a challenging period of combat operations. He is remembered for his professionalism, leadership, and dedication to his soldiers. Tragically, he was killed in action along with three of his men, leaving behind a wife and two daughters.
