His resilience paid off when he became the first-ever youth Olympic champion in kitesurfing at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, winning gold in both freestyle and Olympic class events. He is now focused on preparing for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026, with aspirations of competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
