Dennis Scauso was a New York City firefighter who served in a hazardous materials unit for 12 years. He changed his shift on September 11, 2001, to work overtime, which led him to be in the South Tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed. His remains have not yet been identified, and he is among the more than 1,000 victims of the attacks whose identities remain unknown.
