Daulet Turlikhanov
Daulet Turlikhanov is a distinguished Kazakhstani wrestler and sports official. Born in the Soviet Union, he gained acclaim as a Greco-Roman wrestler, becoming a world champion in 1989 and earning medals at the Olympics, including silver in 1988 and bronze in 1992. Turlikhanov has also been recognized as a deserved master of sports in the USSR and has served as a coach and mentor in the sport. In December 2021, he was elected president of the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation, a role he has since stepped down from in December 2023. In addition to his sports career, he is a member of the Mazhilis, the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, having been elected as a deputy in March 2023.
