Danielette Adelaide Nelson
Dr. Danielette Adelaide Nelson was a pioneering Liberian surgeon and a trailblazer for women in medicine, practicing in London for over 50 years. Born in Monrovia in 1936, she graduated from the University of Liberia and earned her medical degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Known for her compassionate care and dedication, she was the only female surgeon in Liberia during the 1960s and 1970s and later founded the Afro Health Institute in London to support hospitals in Liberia.
