Benjamín Medrano Quezada
Benjamín Medrano Quezada (1966-2023) was a prominent Mexican politician and businessman, known for being the first openly gay mayor in Mexico, serving the municipality of Fresnillo, Zacatecas from 2013 to 2015. Born in Nochistlán de Mejía, Zacatecas, he held a master's degree in Constitutional Law and was also recognized for his unique personal style, often seen in white shirts, denim jeans, cowboy boots, and a hat. His tenure as mayor occurred in a region marked by issues related to drug trafficking and insecurity.
