Batya Yafe
Batya Yafe is a dedicated volunteer and medic with the United Hatzalah trauma unit in Israel. Together with her therapy dog, Lucy, she provided comfort and support to victims of trauma at numerous emergency scenes over an 11-year period, including major disasters such as the Meron tragedy and the Surfside building collapse in Florida. Batya trained Lucy to recognize those in need before they even understood their own distress, and their bond proved invaluable in countless situations where emotional support was essential.
