Aureliu Guțanu
Aureliu Guțanu was the mayor of the village of Plop in the Dondușeni district of Moldova. Born in 1969 into a farming family, he pursued higher education at the State University of Tiraspol, where he studied geography and biology, later earning a law degree from the State University of Chișinău. Throughout his career, he served as a teacher and worked for 23 years in various divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. Guțanu was elected mayor in 2011 and held the position for multiple terms, contributing significantly to his community until his passing at the age of 56, leaving behind two children.
