Aníbal Alexander Canelón Aguirre, also known as 'El Ingeniero' and 'Prometeo', is a Venezuelan cybercriminal who was recently captured by U.S. authorities in Venezuela. He was identified by the FBI as a presumed leader of an international network involved in financial fraud and cyber attacks on ATMs, using a technique known as ATM jackpotting. Canelón Aguirre was notably the first cybercriminal to be placed on the FBI's list of most wanted fugitives when he was added on March 12, 2026. His operations reportedly funded the Tren de Aragua, a transnational criminal organization designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S.
