Alexandru Obregia
Alexandru Obregia (1860-1937) was a prominent Romanian psychiatrist and professor, known for his significant contributions to the development of psychiatry in Romania. He held the position of head of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Bucharest from 1910 to 1924 and was a student of notable psychiatrist Alexandru A. Suțu. His research focused on the morphology of the nervous system, schizophrenia, and general paralysis, and he introduced the suboccipital puncture technique into neurological practice. Obregia's work laid the foundation for modern psychiatric practices in Romania.
