Adir Hajaj
Adir Hajaj, a 27-year-old commander in the elite IDF unit Sayeret Givati, is a passionate advocate for the future of Israeli agriculture. Growing up on a family farm in Moshav Gilat, he embraced the values of Zionism and hard work instilled by his grandparents and father. Despite the challenges of an aging agricultural workforce in Israel, Adir took on the management of the family farm, which spans 400 dunams of greenhouses, orchards, and field crops. His dedication became even more crucial during recent conflicts when he balanced military service with the pressing needs of the farm, which faced severe labor shortages. Through collaboration with organizations like Leket Israel, Adir has been instrumental in saving surplus produce from going to waste, showcasing his commitment to both his family's legacy and the broader community.
